Novio Church
Rapidly growing church urgently seeking a permanent home after their venue's landlord went bankrupt
Building a foundation for Nijmegen
Our Vision
"Novio Church is a rapidly growing community in Nijmegen, the Netherlands' oldest city and a key university centre. With a congregation that has grown from nothing to 150 people in just three years, we are reaching students, internationals, and young professionals with the gospel."
Our Journey
During a week of prayer and fasting in late March 2026, Novio Church received the news that the Nyma Theatre Foundation, the landlord of our current premises, had filed for bankruptcy. Our current location will no longer be available in the very near future. Although we have been searching intensively for another building for over a year, suitable locations are scarce in Nijmegen and doors have often remained closed to church communities. Until recently, the only alternative seemed to be splitting the congregation into two Sunday services. We then found a former education building at Groenewoudseweg 1 which is absolutely perfect for our needs, but relies on developing a business plan comprising other church and social actors using and contributing to the space. There is a June 1 bid process open for social and religious organisations, and we stand a strong chance of winning if we can prove funding.
Property Need
Our current venue is closing due to the landlord's bankruptcy. We have identified a former education building at Groenewoudseweg 1, Nijmegen, which would be ideal for a multi-use church and community space. A bid process for social and religious organisations opens on June 1. We need to develop a business plan with other church and social partners to win the bid.
Target Area
Groenewoudseweg 1, Nijmegen
