Building a foundation for Toulouse
Our Vision
"We are currently unable to host everyone that shows up on Sundays and the congregation spills out onto the pavement after the services. We would love to replace an expensive rental with an income-generating multi-purpose building in the centre of Toulouse. To that end we have signed up with CPC to put together our scope, funding, and hunt team."
Our Journey
Toulouse is a rapidly growing city full of young professionals – the fourth largest in France with 120,000 students and the fastest growing economy in the country. We want to be their church. Eglise La Rencontre was planted in September 2022 by Manou Bolomik and Kevin Miller with a vision to create a real sense of community in downtown Toulouse, embracing the city's multicultural heritage to deliver the gospel – 'A French church with an international vibrancy.' We have grown from a standing start to a congregation of more than 200 people in under four years. We currently rent a co-working space (ô Local) to the east of the central district, close to the urban residential zones. Without a property of our own, our growth will become increasingly difficult.
Community Impact
We host concerts, relaxed social spaces, conferences, and group outings that people can invite friends and family to. There is a strong focus on children's and youth ministries, investing in the future of the church and drawing in families. We are involved with Bouge ta Ville Toulouse, a collaborative evangelistic partnership of churches in the city. We are also committed to raising up and training future leaders and church planters, with a discipleship course supporting young people as witnesses and evangelists.
Property Need
We need to transition from our expensive co-working space rental to our own multi-purpose, income-generating building in central Toulouse. The current venue cannot accommodate our growing congregation – people are spilling onto the pavement on Sundays.
